Anime character profile

Lapis Lazuli

__Hardness:__ 5 A gem that was taken to the moon before the beginning of the story, leaving only their head behind on Earth. Lapis was in charge of the library, a position now taken up by their former partner [Ghost Quartz](https://anilist.co/character/128723/Ghost-Quartz). Lapis was clever, confident, and charming, with keen observation and great deductive thinking skills. [Euclase](https://anilist.co/character/123391/Euclase) remarks that although Lapis was extremely smart and pleasant to talk to, they would rather use their skills to satisfy their own intellectual curiosity rather than for the benefit of others. This meant they could be quite manipulative at times. [Cairngorm](https://anilist.co/character/124600/Cairngorm) describes Lapis as "surprisingly deceiving" and excellent at keeping secrets. After [Phos](https://anilist.co/character/123385/Phosphophyllite) loses their head in a battle against the Lunarians, Cairngorm asks [Kongou](https://anilist.co/character/123394/Kongou) for permission to use Lapis's head as a substitute. He agrees, and their head is attached to Phos's body. This new head influences their personality; most notably, Phos inherits Lapis's deductive and strategic abilities, and becomes more attentive to details. Lapis’s personality also adds a more secretive and manipulative nature to Phos. Not long after the head is first attached, Lapis appears in Phos's dream, explaining that they left a "message" in their inclusions just in case another gem used their head. They tell Phos that they also wanted to understand the Lunarians, but they were distracted by trying to rationalize the Lunarians' illogical actions during a battle, resulting in them being shot by arrows and taken to the moon.
